Carina Collins, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of biology at the Marian University College of Arts and Sciences. She earned a B.A. in biochemistry from William Jewell College and a Ph.D. In biochemistry from the University of Missouri in Columbia. She continued her training as a postdoctoral research assistant in the botany department at the University of Wisconsin Madison. In 2020, Dr. Collins joined the biology department at Marian. Throughout her career she has studied molecular signaling pathways that control the lives of plants, and mentored many undergraduate students as they have pursued their own exciting careers in science.
