Biography 

Terion Cooper currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities and is an Instructor of Music at Marian University. He came to Marian University in August 2019 from teaching High School music in Indianapolis Public Schools, most recently Shortridge High School. During his 12 years in the K-12 classroom in Michigan and Indiana, he taught general music, mixed chorus, treble voice chorus, bass voice chorus, band ensembles, percussion ensembles, International Baccalaureate classes at the Middle Years and Diploma levels as well as Engineering through Project Lead the Way. He was nominated by a student for a special education recognition event at the Indiana State Capitol.

While in Indianapolis Public Schools Mr. Cooper directed the All-City Choir comprised of students from the various IPS High Schools. He has been the guest conductor at choral events such as the Shelby County Choral Festival and presented sessions on vocal technique, vocal warm-ups and the changing voice for church clinics.

Mr. Cooper sings with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. He has completed three levels of Kodàly instruction at Indiana University and serves on the board for the Indiana chapter of the Organization of American Kodàly Educators (OAKE), Indiana Kodàly Educators. A love for language he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in French as well as a Bachelor of Music Education degree at Grand Valley State University. He is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), OAKE and American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
