Marian University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is perfect for registered nurses looking to become Family Nurse Practitioners or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists. This degree prepares RNs who have earned their BSN for the highest level of advanced clinical practice and leadership roles. The DNP degree is offered through the Leighton School of Nursing at our convenient Indianapolis campus.
The DNP curriculum is delivered in a hybrid format of both on-campus and online instruction. Courses include systems leadership, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, policy and advocacy, advanced patient care, and other key areas to improve patient and organizational outcomes. An example of some of these classes are anesthesia principles, advanced pharmacology, and theoretical foundations of nursing practice.
Marian’s CRNA program is 87 credit hours and typically takes 36 months to complete. Graduates of this track are eligible to work in a variety of settings that require anesthesia. Anesthetists are in-demand at hospitals, trauma centers, delivery rooms, and healthcare facilities.
Marian’s full-time FNP program is 71 credit hours and takes ten semesters to complete.
